14 December 2005 Hunger Breaks: Kebab Attack

Kebab Attack is part of the Hunger Breaks range from Crosse & Blackwell. On the surface, this obviously sounds like an ideal snack. Beans are great. Kebabs are great. Therefore, beans and kebab meat must be mega-great. This is simply not so. The kebab meat might look like the doner kebab meat you get down at your local kebab shop but that's where the similarity ends.

15 October 2005 Pop Tarts: October 2005

It was good to see some of the old gang back together again for Pop Tarts at The University of Sheffield Union of Students. What a shame that Rothers couldn't make it...

9 - 12 September 2005 Devon: September 2005

If you want to have fun like this, grab a £9.50 holiday to Rude Holiday Park in Croyde Bay, North Devon from The Sun and visit Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. ("Probably the best park I've ever visited," says Terry Nutkins of The Really Wild Show!) Then you'll need to drink lots of Hancock's Scrumpy Cider before going down to Club Ruda's Coconut Bar to "get down with the kids" (even though it's an Adults Only Night for over 18s). Finally, spend a day on the beach at Croyde Bay and have a great meal at Hobb's Bistro. On the way home, you can stop off at Quince Honey Farm and Cheddar Gorge.

22 - 23 July 2005 Tony's 26th Birthday Weekend

If you want to have fun like this, go to Butlers Balti House on Friday night and then go down to Bar One at The University of Sheffield Union of Students for a few beers. Then, when you get home you'll need a PS2, as many Singstar discs as you can get, two microphones and a few friends. Don't forget - if it's someone's birthday, you're supposed to let them win - beating the Birthday Boy is very rude!

9 July 2005 Chris and Dawn's Wedding

Chris Riley and Dawn Nelson got hitched at The Crown Hotel in Wetheral, Carlisle. As lovely as the ceremony was, the highlights of the wedding were obviously the Chocolate Maltesers Wedding Cake and the Bacon Butties - thanks, Dawn! The Best Man said he couldn't remember going in the kitchen... the evidence is below! For more photos, see Anthony's blog.

2 - 3 July 2005 Festival International de Jazz de Montréal

“Located in the very heart of downtown Montreal, the Festival site is contained in the four block radius of Ste-Catherine, President-Kennedy, Bleury and St-Urbain streets. The readily identifiable landmarks of Complexe Desjardins and the Place des Arts are right at the center of the festivities.”

25 June 2005 Chris Riley's Stag Do

For Chris Riley's stag do we went to Parkwood Karting (I came 3rd) and had a meal at Mama's and Leonie's (who said we were the best behaved stag do they've ever had). After that we had a few quiet drinks in town and then we all went home before 11 o'clock for a mug of Horlicks before bedtime. As you can see, Chris was sporting a little prisoner number and a ball and chain (aka Dawn).

It had been three years since Suzy and I had been on a holiday abroad, so we decided to take advantage of the cheap flights to Pisa being offered at the nearby Doncaster-Sheffield Robin Hood Airport and book our accommodation via Venere.com.
